Welcome to the Justice to People website commonly referred to as the J2P website. J2P is a company registered under the Laws of Uganda with a mission to provide Transparent, responsive and accountable Justice System and services for all.

Justice2People (J2P) is a system designed as a Mobile Application and Web based interface which is in line with the UN Goal 16 to offer a channel through which aggravated persons or victims of crime can be able to get help and Justice.

With advancement in technology, J2P aims to improve the ways in which the current system has been availing justice to people using technology.

J2P has designed and developed a mobile application and a web Service that help interface with the user.

1. User Application

This will provide users ability to Report crimes in their communities, Access to Legal help from a wealth of Professional Lawyers, follow up cases filed, Report Accidents, Pay for fines and Tickets

2. Web Service /Interface

This will be the back end used by the Lawyers, Police, Courts of law and other agencies that will monitor justice

By using the website, you accept this agreement. We may change the terms of this agreement from time to time and by continuing to use the website after we post any such changes you accept the agreement as modified.

J2P collects personal information from its users which information includes but is not limited to your name, address, phone number and physical location.

We require that the information collected is used and managed properly.

This information is collected to enable J2P clients respond to the report filed with J2P in the quickest way possible and to enable accurate investigation of the crimes reported thereby improving service delivery and ensuring follow up on cases that are reported.

We provide you with ways to update your personal information including account and contact information and take reasonable steps to keep your personal information accurate and complete.

We understand the importance of maintaining the security of your personal information and use reasonable security measures including but not limited to physical, administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information.

Some examples of security measures used here include:

1. Passwords – these are required to access your online account and protect your personal information. The password is confidential.
2.  Encryption technology called SSL – Secure Sockets Layer which helps protect personal information on our website during transport across the internet.

J2P’s website and mobile services are intended for the general public and not directed to children. J2P will therefore receive information from all its users regardless of the age.

You certify that the information you provide on the J2P website is both complete and accurate.

You are also responsible for the confidentiality of your password and for all statements made and acts or omissions that occur on your account. If for any reason, you think that someone has used your password or account without authorization, you are to inform J2P immediately.

Your account may also be restricted or terminated for any reason at our sole discretion. We may also change, restrict access to, suspend or discontinue the website or any portion of it without notice.

You are further prohibited from:

• Using or attempting to use any software or tool, device or mechanism other than that provided by J2P or other third party web browsers to navigate the website.
• Violating or attempting to violate the security of the website.
• Interfering or attempting to interfere with the proper working of the website.

All copyrights and other intellectual property and materials including but not limited to page headers, photographs, images and texts (collectively referred to as the IP) are owned by J2P.

You may access, view, download, print the IP and all other materials for your personal non -commercial use only provided that:

• The IP remains unaltered in any way.
• You do not provide or make available the IP to any 3rd party in a commercial manner.
• You retain all copyright or proprietary designations contained on all IP.

No license or title, right or interest is transferred to you as a result of your use of the website or accessing, viewing, printing or downloading of the IP. Except as above, you may not reproduce, publish, transmit, display, modify, create derivative works from, exploit in any way whether in part or in whole any of the IP, the J2P website or any related software.

J2P claims no ownership rights to photos, files, videos and albums (collectively known as ‘Photos’) uploaded on your J2P account. However, by uploading the photos and videos, you agree to waive all moral rights to those images. In addition, you grant J2P and its clients a non -exclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to download, publish, post, transmit and distribute the photos on your account for the purpose of enabling the investigations into the crime reported.

No modification or use of your photo for any purpose other than as stated shall take place without obtaining your express permission.

J2P is not responsible for monitoring and creation of back -up copies of the photos submitted on your account neither is it liable for any damage to your photos including but not limited to loss, alteration and deletion.

By submitting photos, you warrant that you are the sole author of the Photos.

J2P allows users to submit information and other content through the website and mobile application, however, written content must be in English. By submitting content, a user warrants that:

1. They are the sole author and owner of the content.
2. They have witnessed the crime that is being reported.

You represent and warrant that you will not submit the following content:

1. Content that is false, misleading or inaccurate
2. Content that violates any Ugandan, regional and international laws
3. Content that is obscene, defamatory, hateful, abusive, slanderous to any person or entity
4. Spam links to other websites and or individuals
5. Chain letters or pyramid schemes
6. Content that contains viruses and other harmful computer code.
7. Content that victimizes, harasses, degrades or intimidates an individual on the basis of religion, gender, race, ethnicity, age or disability.

J2P will endeavor to monitor all content and has the right but not the obligation to monitor the content of website to determine compliance with this agreement and any other operating rules that may be established by J2P from time to time. J2P shall have the right, in its sole discretion to edit, move, delete or refuse to post any content submitted to o0072 posted on its website for any reason including violation of this agreement whether for legal or other reasons.

You are solely responsible for any content you submit and you agree to indemnify J2P and its affiliates for all claims resulting from any content you submit.

J2P will not be responsible in instances where content submitted to the client is not responded to or reports not investigated.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless J2P from and against all claims, costs, expenses, damages including legal fees arising from, or related to your use of J2P site and or by any breach by you of this agreement.

Users of J2P are advised to check the terms of use of the website periodically for any changes. Additional notice of significant changes shall be provided.

This agreement is effective unless and until terminated by either you or J2P which may also terminate this agreement at any time and may do so immediately and without notice and accordingly deny you access to the J2P site if in J2P’s discretion you fail to comply with any term or provision of this agreement by either you or J2P.

The following sections shall survive any termination of this agreement:

• Use of the J2P site
• Content Submission
• Intellectual Property
• Indemnification
• Termination.
• Privacy

To the full extent permissible by applicable law, J2P   disclaims all warranties, express or implied for any services offered on the J2P site. You acknowledge by your use of the J2P site that your use of the J2P site is at your sole risk.

 J2P’s directors, employees, officers, agents and affiliates shall under no circumstances be liable to you or to any other person for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential losses or damages of any nature arising out of or in connection with the use of or inability to use the J2P site.

This shall include but is not limited to loss of good will, data, work stoppage and computer failure or malfunction.
